Random Facts and Statistics

Hey guys! Here's some cool/weird/funny/random/sad facts, statistics, and miscellaneous stuff I found while "surfin' the web" today. They're probably not all true, but it makes for a good read either way. 

Let me start off by giving you guys a site to go to that is world statistics in REAL TIME. I don't know if it's legit, but to me it seems pretty real. GO here -->> http://www.worldometers.info/ and take a minute to check it out, it's a little awakening, if you will. 

  • The current population of Earth is over 6,910,000,000. Around 1900 there were only 1,600,000,000 people, meaning that Earth's population has more than quadrupled in slightly over 100 years' time 
  • Only 1% of the population has a "genius" IQ, one of 140 or higher.    
  • Half of the people killed by bombs are those trying to make or set the bombs.
  •  For every 100,000 girls, 223 will become doctors and 17,475 will become nurses.  
  • According to studies, men change their minds two to three times more often than women.  
  • All major league baseball umpires must wear black underwear while on the job!
  •  Americans will spend more on cat food this year than baby food
  • 'Household bleach is the recommended chemical to decontaminate people exposed to the anthrax virus, by the U.S. F.D.A. 
  • In 1895 Hampshire police handed out the first ever speeding ticket, fining a man for doing 6mph
  • Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not only sweat by salivating. They also sweat through the pores on their feet
  • Deep Breathing gives you health benefits similar to aerobics.
  • Rain contains vitamin B12
