My First Tutorial...<br />
A Natural Smokey Eye, using purples and golds, which are GREAT for people with brown/hazel eyes.<br />
<br />
Most Importantly guys - forgive my appearance. I had already washed my face for the day, and I haven't done my eyebrows in a long time.<br />
<br />
I always start my make up by doing my concealor/foundation/powder first. I know this is probably against the rules, its just how I like to do it. But you can skip that if you like to do it after.<br />
<br />
Start with an eyeshadow primer - I use E.L.F Shadow Primer, which only cost me a dollar on <a href="http://www.eyeslipsface.com/" target="_blank">E.L.F</a>. I dab a bit on, and then use my foundation brush to smooth it out a little.<br />
<br />
After your primer is on, I find it EXTREMELY helpful to use a piece of scotch tape to dictate where your shadow will end and it will also give a line for your liquid liner. Be sure to have the tape even on both eyes.<br />
<br />
I used Covergirls "Opal Dust" shadow as a base. This is a slightly shimmery lavender shadow. Just brush it on the lid with my creasing brush (I know, thats not what the brush is for but I use the brushes in way that makes applying the make up easiest for me, since as you all know I'm new to make up).<br />
<br />
Next, using my creasing brush (after wiping it clean), I applied Physicians Formula gold shadow from the "Baked Spices" pallet to the entire length of my crease, and over the outer half of my lid. I blended it a little bit using the same brush.<br />
<br />
For the outer "smokey" color, I used a maroon/purple shade from Maybelline NY's "Designer Chocolates" pallet. I applied this with a smudge brush, to the very outer corner of the lid, and the outer half of my crease line. I then went in with a blending brush and blended it out as far high as I wanted out to the tape.<br />
<br />
Next, from the same Maybelline pallet I used a nude shimmer to highlight my brow line, and the very inside corner of my eye with the smudge brush.<br />
<br />
Now, my least favorite part: liquid liner (I'm using Maybelline's Line Stiletto). I rarely use a liner because sometimes it can be way too harsh, and most of the time I'm not doing anything that requires any make up at all- never mind a hard black wing. I never start at the inside corner with my liner, mainly because I just don't like the way it looks, but if you like to, go ahead and start there. And follow that line up the tape for a nice straight, smooth liner.<br />
<br />
Curl your lashes, and then add mascara. My current favorite mascara is L'Oreal's Voluminous Carbon Black. And, I always close my eye and put a coat on the top of my lashes, and then open, and apply it normally. I find this makes my lashes look more full and a lot longer.<br />
<br />
Now, you can take the tape off, and do your bottom lashes if you like. I always mess my makeup up completely by trying to do my bottom lashes, so I steer clear of mascara on them. If you don't like the hard line of the shadow, be sure to blend it in a little more to where the tape was. Also, if you did your foundation first like I do, you may want to dab a little more on with your foundation brush where the tape was because when you take the tape off, you take your foundation with it.<br />
<br />
I know this isn't really a great tutorial, but, if I can do this, anyone can! Hope you all enjoy!!<br />

Hey guys, if you know me, you know I am frugal. I don't like spending money if I don't have to, and I certainly don't want to spend a pocketful on something to clean my make up brushes with. So, I did a little snooping online and I found a way to to safely clean your brushes at home with things you already have lying around! And - It's easier than you could ever imagine! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>What you'll need:</u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-brushes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-bar of soap </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-water</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-face cloth or paper towel</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnbmV2q22ACD_7KAb8adEp6N3Y_hRcBskgG5qgqZP7nCd4ZJyMjwUHWcSGBy7OdvgJvFgtV569jGO6xXzBjibxmHHR5a7oBTbN-jy6GUDGBjKU7_Ml5gtVgSiWeQ-c63kNxjhVXma-yug/s1600/10156832_10100370120707346_1996212985_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnbmV2q22ACD_7KAb8adEp6N3Y_hRcBskgG5qgqZP7nCd4ZJyMjwUHWcSGBy7OdvgJvFgtV569jGO6xXzBjibxmHHR5a7oBTbN-jy6GUDGBjKU7_Ml5gtVgSiWeQ-c63kNxjhVXma-yug/s1600/10156832_10100370120707346_1996212985_n.jpg" height="200" width="150" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 1</u>: Wet your bar of soap, and your brushes. Be sure not to get your brushes wet above the metal band, if you do, the brissles are more likely to fall out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 2</u>: Rub your brush in a circular motion on the bar of soap. If you like (I do), massage the brush to make sure you get the soap all the way through. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 3</u>: Rinse your brushes in lukewarm water, again making sure to not get above the metal wet. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 4</u>: Pat your brushes dry on a clean face cloth or paper towel. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Using a bar of soap is easy and convenient, and an added bonus is that now a days, most soaps are made with moisturizers, so you will be cleaning and moisturizing your brushes at the same time. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another way to clean your brushes is to mix equal parts olive oil and shampoo in a jar or tin and mix well, dip your brushes in, and rinse them under lukewarm water. Olive oil is a great moisturizer and will leave your brushes in great condition!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I never could have imagined how much of a difference using brushes to apply make up makes! I literally used to dot my cover up on my hand, and rub it all over my face. After countless youtube videos I've learned a lot about contouring, highlighting, and putting make up on in general (although no amount of "smokey eye for dummies" videos I watch, I will never know how to do it). This is sort of a cheaper set - its called Eco Tools by Alicia Silverstone, and for the most part the work incredibly! It was only $5 for the holder and the brushes ( minus the eyelash curler). However, I'm still learning what each brush is for. If your looking for new brushes, head over to eyeslipsface.com, they have them for as little as $1, and right now (4/11) they are having a half off everything sale! </div>

Almay Clear Complexion Concealer + Treatment Gel - THE MOST PERFECT PRODUCT EVER! How awesome to have an acne/blemish treatment in the same tube as your concealer! Both work really great. The concealer goes on so smooth, and it really is great coverage! A little goes a long way. I use shade 200 light/medium, and I got it at OSJL for $1!! At Wal-Mart, this product goes for around $6-7. Definitely recommend it!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I always have such a hard time choosing which shade of foundation I should buy (mainly because in my head I'm much tanner than I actually am) so I always look weird because it was never the right color. I was SO impressed with this Almay smart shade smart balance. It comes out of the tube white (which made me a little scared because I have more of an olive skin tone) but it really does adjust to your skin tone. This product can go for as much as $15 at a local drug store, but I got it at OSJL for only $4! Such a steal !!</div>

I use this Revlon Colorstay Whipped creme make up in shade 400- Early Tan to contour my face ( mainly under my cheeks, along my hairline on my forehead, outside of my nose, and along my jawline). It is such a nice texture, and for only $4 (goes for $14.99 at CVS) I couldn't help it! I loooooove this product!</div>

I was a little bummed because I accidentally bought green/moss color, but it actually looks very pretty with my brown eyes. The E.L.F Eyeshadow and liner stick only cost me $1 at OSJL, and like I said, it was a pleasant surprise. Its very easy to make a smokey look with this shadow stick, or, you can use it as a liner. It's perfect! This product is only $3 on the eyeslipsface.com, and they have more than just moss green to choose from! </div>

This Physicians Formula eyeshadow is from the baked collection, "Baked Spices" pallet (12270A). It is a little to shimmery for me, but if your using them with matte/flat eye shadows for a smokey eye, they are PERFECT! This goes for $7.99 at CVS, I got it for $2 at OSJL</div>

I've never been one to wear lipstick, but I wanted to start with a nudish color, pale pinks, more natural colors before I try bold. This Color Whisper goes for $6.49 at CVS. I got it for $1.99 at OSJL. The shade is 255- Ravishing Pink, and in my opinion, everyone with my skin tone needs to own this color! I'm so in love with it. It is NOT high gloss, and it is super moisturizing! Such a steal!! </div>

Ladies! The other day I was using my blow dryer and realized it wasn't working as well as it usually does. It took me almost twice as long to blow dry my hair. Tonight, I dropped my blow dryer and the plastic piece on the back popped open and exposed the disgusting dust mess that taken over the back fan part of my dryer. Don't forget to clean that part of your dryer. Not only will it make your dryer run like normal, but I'm fairly certain it is a fire hazard to have all that dust blocking the end. That's it, for now! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I am ALL for trying color preserve products since my red had been so hard to maintain. While I was looking at another PPV product I read about, I came across this. I was super interested since I don't wash my hair everyday, but it always gets greasy after the second day without washing. I enjoy the idea of a conditioner that cleanses because that would take elevate the damage that everyday shampooing does. I also love that it is sulfate free! Naturally I went online and read other peoples reviews and saw nothing but great things! The only really negative thing I saw was that it has menthol in it so it can cause a burning sensation on your scalp. Which, I could feel tingling but no burning. I don't have very sensitive skin so it could be worse for you if you do. I thoroughly enjoy the smell of this product! Even though this is only my first use, I like this product and recommend it if you are like me in trying to not wash your hair so often with shampoo. It is still good to wash every 2-3 days. </div>

Okay, let's face it... we've all done stuff we were told specifically not to do. In today's case, we're talking about box hair dye. I know, even the thought of it probably kills you hairdressers and self-proclaimed beauticians. But today I'm going to give you a few helpful tips on how to get the best result using a drug store bought box hair dye. I've got to be honest, I started dying my hair out of the box when I was in college. Before that, I had my hair chemically altered one time, and that was highlights for my senior year book picture. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once I was in college, I started to experiment... okay get your mind out of the gutter, I mean with hair dye. I went from my natural dark brown to light brown, to blonde, to jet black. Needless to say, this really took a toll on my hair. I hit a road block though, when I wanted to get my jet midnight black hair back to my natural brown. That's where my friend Lela came in. She is literally a hair GODDESS. She helped me get back to my natural brown but we had to lift the black out, then deposit the brown. It was a long process, and it really killed my hair. Shortly after, I wanted to go red, not fire engine red. But, burgundy. We tried that, and it was hard to maintain, so I decided to go back to dark brown, but with caramel highlights. Oh my God did I love it!! However, life happened and I wasn't able to keep having her touch up my highlights, so I decided to take matter into my own hands. *Cue dramatic music*</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the beginning of December, on an unexpected snowy day off, I was browsing pinterest and came across a color I just HAD to have; it was a brown-reddish-pinky color. Makes no sense, I know. So without further consideration, I hopped into my car and drove to my local CVS, where I found a color so similar to the one I had seen on pinterest. It was only $3.99 (Revlon Colorsilk - Shade Burgundy), and I have long hair so I bought two boxes and went home and died it. I was in love with the color, but it only lasted a whole 3 days. So, a week later, I bought it again, and dyed it again. The same thing happened. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So I waited a few weeks and tried a different brand ($8.99 Garnier Olia - Shade Dark Red Garnet). And, before I dyed it, I researched some stuff (on google, and reviews on the products I was using). I did what I had read, and OH MY GOD. It made such a huge difference. Dying so many times has caused me so much frustration, and so much damage to my hair, I thought I would share some helpful tips and tricks with my readers to help make your experience a little more pleasant.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
** I will post pictures and costs of the products I recommend at the end of this post **</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For starters, when it comes to box dye, it's true, the more expensive, the better. In all honesty, I favor the new Garnier Olia. Also, remember, if you have long, thick hair, you will probably need two boxes. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>ATLEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO DYING</u>: Wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the buildup your products have left behind over time. I noticed this really makes a difference in how well the color takes to your hair. I bought Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo for $1.94 at Walmart. If you don't want to use a clarifying shampoo, do not wash your hair 24 hours prior to coloring.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Prep</u>: If you're anything like me, you'll make a mess. Make sure you have on crappy clothes, and have towels or bags laid out to catch any dye that might escape your locks. Also - use vaseline around your hairline, on your ears, and the back of your neck to help with your skin getting dyed. Section your hair into at least 4 equal parts to better ensure coverage. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>During Application</u>: Make sure you shake the mixture (away from your face) really well. Work on only one section at a time. If you have color treated hair already, I suggest you start with mid-shaft to ends, and then go back and cover all your roots. I also like to leave the dye on for 10-15 minutes longer than directions suggest. Then, I put a plastic grocery bag on my head. Before rinsing, I like to massage the dye into my hair without adding water.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>RINSING</u>: Be sure to use cool water, and rinse until the water runs mostly clear. DO NOT SHAMPOO THE DYE OUT. Use the conditioner that came in the box. (If you got two boxes, I recommend using the second tube of conditioner after washing your hair for the first time after dying.) REMEMBER TO RINSE WITH COOL WATER, COLD IF YOU CAN TOLERATE IT</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>AfterCare</u>: This part is SO important to maintain color, especially reds. Towel dry your hair (be mindful of the color of the towel so your hair doesn't bleed all over your brand new white towels). While it is still damp, use a leave-in conditioner. Only a small amount (dime sized, usually). Apply to mid-shafts and ends only. If you use it on your roots, your hair will look greasy faster. Try not to go to sleep with wet hair. And, don't put your hair up in an elastic while it is wet. Both of these things will make your hair more prone to breakage. If you're going to blow dry and/or straighten - I highly recommend using a heat protection. And, finish it off, (once it is dry) with a smoothing serum. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is important that you DO NOT wash your hair everyday. And after dying, be sure to use a sulfate free or color safe shampoo and conditioner. Also, I seriously suggest you guys do a deep conditioning treatment once a week. And when washing; ALWAYS RINSE WITH COOL WATER. Hot water can be very damaging to your hair, and also fades color super fast! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are SOME of the products I use and highly recommend! (Photos are below descriptions)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Shampoo & Conditioner</u>: Refer to my last post. I switch between Clear, Vidal Sassoon Color Care, and Suave Keratin Infusion Color Care. None of which are expensive. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Deep Conditioner</u>: I use ApHogee Intensive 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor, Which can be found at Sally's for roughly $10-12. It literally works wonders! </div>

<span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I bought the suave professionals keratin infusion color care today at my local stop and shop because it was on sale. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner. Before I used it, I googled reviews on it. I was literally horrified and questioned if I should use it or not. So many people were saying their hair started to fall out. Despite my reservations, I used all three products today for the first time and I am blown away!!! First off it smells so good! And all products in the line smell the same, which I tend to notice conditioners never smell as good as the shampoo. Even after just one use, I can see a huge difference. My hair is super shiny, soft, and so manageable. I typically tend to blow dry with a round brush after showering, so I bought the leave in conditioner with heat protection. Also, I noticed my hair dried ALOT faster than normal, which is a plus in my book considering blow drying with a round brush takes up so much time! My hair is literally like silk! Sometimes, I think people forget that you actually need to take care of your hair, especially if you have colored, dry, fine, or curly hair. It is good to use a clarifying shampoo every so often to rid your hair of the build up your hair products leave behind over time. I think the people saying their hair started breaking and falling out had neglected their hair and expected that a keratin infused product would give it life again. I have severely color treated and dry hair. However, I deep condition one time every week, and also use heat protection when blow drying and straightening. I am absolutely pleased with this product. remember though; switch up your shampoos. Try not to use the same one for months and months. I only shampoo 3 times a week, and only use the same shampoo twice. Enjoy!! </span></div>

So, it's Wednesday night, I have tomorrow off. And, being the nana I am, I've been in bed since I got home from work around 4. I've been cruising pinterest and I came across this pin that said "how to fake bangs; and easy hair trick". Naturally I clicked on it. I watch it, I tried it, and in under FIVE minutes, I've adopted a new favorite hair do. It is so easy and quick, and is quite convenient for me since I usually have to wear my hair up at work. It provides me with variety. All you need is two hair elastics, bobby pins and a straightener or curling iron.</div>

Hey guys! I thought I would post reviews about the beauty products (excluding make-up) that I use on an almost daily basis. I'll try my best to include prices, where I got it, and how it works for me. I will save the make up review for another day when I have more time to sit down and apply each item. Let's start with my shower products (shampoos, conditioners, body washes, shaving creams, etc.)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2_aBJJWjS2_GoRTFG76CztWbTMba4lWHqmm3JkdcGTFfu_EOXnU-pdLu1QIYEBnaTumXX_KEKRFVcnBfegu8QV_r02e6o7_3eJKC4yQdR0tLuAllLB4ITiFFzhWMRILjzy2TTZeDF7aE/s1600/Pantene.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2_aBJJWjS2_GoRTFG76CztWbTMba4lWHqmm3JkdcGTFfu_EOXnU-pdLu1QIYEBnaTumXX_KEKRFVcnBfegu8QV_r02e6o7_3eJKC4yQdR0tLuAllLB4ITiFFzhWMRILjzy2TTZeDF7aE/s320/Pantene.jpeg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>1.) Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lenghts</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Shampoo and Conditioner</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is a great products, and it donates to a good cause. The idea is to help grow strong and long healthy hair so more woman will be able to donate hair. I've got to be honest, the smell the the best thing about it. Oh, God does it smell incredible! I'm one of those people who always touches my hair throughout the day (might be considered a nervous habit), and if you're like me, I don't recommend using this as an everyday Shampoo and Conditioner. It leaves your hair smelling so, so good, as well as soft and silky, but it looks greasy after a little while (if you touch your hair a lot). I don't use it daily, but every now and then, when I plan on wearing my hair in a high bun or pulled back in a pony-tail, I like to use this product.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought these product at my local CVS, and it was 2/$7</div>

<b>2.) Organix; Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Shampoo and Conditioner)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For such cool looking products, they definitely don't work as good as I was expecting. I rarely use this product. I bought it because a.) it looks really cool b.) because it smells SO good, and c.) because where I bought it it was much cheaper than in the drug or chain stores. It's just a heavy shampoo and conditioner, that no matter how long you rinse it out for, it weighs your hair down. I didn't really notice my hair actually being "rejuvenated". And, the worst part: the best part of the product (it's smell) doesn't even last. Overall I was just not impressed. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought these product and Ocean State Job Lot, for $5 each. I've seen in it Wal-Mart and CVS for close to $8-9. </div>

<b>3.) Aveeno Nourish and Revitalize </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Shampoo and Conditioner)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> </b>Great Product! It smells good. It's light, and works very well. With this product as well, I would not recommend it for everyday use, but it truly is a great, great product. It doesn't leave your hair flat and weighed down, AS LONG as you don't use TOO much. The smell last pretty long. The only thing I don't really like about this product is the design of the bottles. When the product is half gone, you have to keep the bottles upside down, and I'm sort of OCD about my shower so it bothers me. Other than that, I enjoy this shampoo and conditioner. </div>

<b>4.) Cortex Repair Formula+</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Shampoo and Conditioner)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh My God! This stuff is literally incredible!!!! I can't say enough good things about these products. I am a HUGE fan of the Salon Pump. I personally think it makes it so much easier as opposed to having to pick the bottles up, open the tops, and squeeze out the amount you want. But, that very well may be because I'm lazy. Anyways, I bought this brand because it is the same brand as my hair straightener, and the flat iron spray I used to use, both which I have been very impressed with. You leave the shampoo on for 2-5 minutes, rinse, and then do the same with the conditioner. It has a very clean, "salon" smell that lasts for a decent amount of time in your hair. I've used a lot of hair products, but since I started using this one, I've gotten SO many compliments on my hair. I HIGHLY recommend these. It rinses light enough for everyday use, and I firmly believe it repairs hair. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<b>5.) Biosilk; Silk Therapy</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Shampoo and Conditioner)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hands down the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever used!! (next to Redkin Body Full, which I can no longer find ANYWHERE) For a long time, I thought that it was all hype. I thought "Oh it's expensive and has the word 'silk' in it, of course people are going to buy into it and say it's good". And I told myself for $16.99, I'll pass. I found it for cheaper than $16.99 so I decided to give it a try. The smell. The feel. The results. All incredible. The only problem is, your hair will be so soft, you won't be able to stop running your fingers through it. You wash regularly, and then leave the conditioner in for 2-5 minutes. I can't say enough good things about these products. I enjoy that the bottles are not big and bulky, but sleek and skinny, so they fit into the shower caddy rack in my stand alone shower. I can honestly say that they would be worth the $16.99 each, but I will let you in on a little secret. You can find them MUCH cheaper at TJ MAXX. If you are buying them at TJ MAXX, make sure the bottle is sealed. Sometimes, they water down the product and it isn't as good, but as long as the bottles are sealed and do not appear tampered with, I HIGHLY recommend you buy them!!</div>

<b>6.)Rusk Thermal Flat Iron Spray, Rusk Multi 12-in-1 Miracle Treatment (w8less), Rusk W8less Plus+ Hairspray, and Garnier Fructis XXL Body Thickening Mousse.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Heat Protectant, 12-in-1 Leave in Treatment, Hairspray, and Mousse)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b></b>Let me start by saying I WILL NEVER USE ANOTHER HEAT PROTECTANT OR HAIRSPRAY in my life. These Rusk products are truly amazing. The Thermal Flat Iron Spray protects your hair from the heat of the straightener and adds shine to your hair. It does this without leaving your hair oily or dirty looking. SO INCREDIBLE. You just spray it on your dry hair before straightening, then wait a few minutes because trust me, I learned from experience if you flat iron before it dries you'll more than likely set your fire alarms off. The Leave in treatment I use everyday. It adds to the softness and silkiness of your hair. It doesn't weigh your hair down or make it look oily. You just spray it on to your towel dried hair and comb it through before styling. The W8less hairspray is so incredible! It doesn't leave your hair crispy or flat. It is honestly gentle enough to just hold your whispies down on your straight hair without slicking them to your forehead. ** ALL OF THE RUSH PRODUCTS PICTURED ABOVE SMELL INCREDIBLE!! I was pleasantly surprised because as women, we know how bad some of the "good" products can smell. All three items smell like the salon. The XXL Body mouse works incredible too. All I do with it is add a little to my roots before blowdrying my hair upside down. I know it sounds silly but, that's how it works for me. I recommend all of these products!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought the Rusk products as a set at TJ MAXX for $10, compared to the salon price of $48 for the set. The XXL Body Mousse cost me roughly $5 at my local CVS.</div>

<b>7.) Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash and Oil-Free Acne Wash (both pink grapefruit)</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have never been so impressed with a body wash in my life! I am a CNA, and at my job I am always on the move, and to be honest, I sweat a lot. There was a period of time I found my chest breaking out from the sweat throughout the day. I used this body wash twice, yes TWO TIMES, and it clear my chest right up. I've also got to be honest and let you know I am NOT a fan of the smell of grapefruits, but these products work SO Well I can deal with the smell. Some of you may think this is gross, but for a long time I didn't use anything on my face. I would wash my face with just warm water. And I always had pretty clear skin. Recently I've found myself sweating more and stressing out more and noticed I've been having more breakouts. The face wash works just as good as the body wash does, and I highly recommend these products, especially if you have a fast paced job like me and find yourself sweating a lot. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<b>8.) From Left: Dermasil Dry Skin Treatment, Eucerin Original Healing Smoothing Repair Creme, Medical Remedy Skin Repair Cream, Johnson's "Melt Away Stress Lavender and Chamomile", and Dermasil Oil-Free Night Moisturizer Facial Cream</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A bundle of complete and utter goodness, I swear to you! I had a really bad patch of dry skin behind my knee, and I used the Dry Skin Treatment for about 2 weeks, and my skin is back to normal. I personally think Dermasil is too heavy of a cream to use daily, or as a regular moisturizer, but it really does a good job taking care of extreme cases of dry skin. The Eucerin I used this winter when my hands got really rough and dry from the weather elements. It is a VERY heavy, and VERY oily product, but it definitely repairs skin.<b> </b>Don't tell anyone, but the Medical Remedy Skin Repair lotion came from my work. I use it on my residents to keep their skin moisturized and looking young(ish). I use it on my hands and arms daily. It smells like orange creamsicles and it does a good job at keeping skin soft. The Johnson's Stress lotion smells so, so, so good. I use it before bed, I rub it on my hands, and then rub a little on my temples and on my neck. I believe it does help relax. And lastly, the Dermasil Night Cream. HOLY CRAP. It was such a good product! I use it nightly and I truly swear by it. It's oil free so it doesn't leave your skin heavy or wet. And after a few continuous uses, you can tell a difference in the softness of your face. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought both Dermasil products at The Dollar Tree for $1 each. The Eucerin is from the travel isle at CVS and cost roughly $1-2. The Med Remedy is from my work, you may be able to buy it online somewhere, I haven't checked. And the Johnson's can be found at Rite Aid for $1.49</div>

<b>9.) Jergens Natural Glow FIRMING Gradual Tanner, and Face Tanner.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I kept telling myself I wasn't going to buy into the gimmicks. But, I eventually did, and I couldn't be happier with these products. The firming lotion works WONDERS and within a week I noticed my butt and legs looked firmer (less cottage-cheesy). And even though to bottles say "new scent"... and it is new, and pleasant AT FIRST, after it dries it smells like the same old natural glow. Besides that, the only bad thing I can say is that you have to be super careful when putting it on. Watch for streaks and unevenness. Also, you must use it sparingly on your knees and elbows, and make sure to wipe off your eyebrows or you'll start to look just plain dirty. Great products, and they really work. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<b>10.) Nine West's "Love Fury" Perfume, Body Lotion, and Shower Gel</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> </b>Ugh, I fell in love with this scent, and I watched and waited until it went on sale to buy it. It smells SO incredible. It is a sophisticated smell, and it compliments just about any occasion. It is young enough to wear to school, but old enough to wear to dinner, or to the bar. The downfall is that I find that the lotion scent lasts longer than the perfume, and the shower gel doesn't really smell like the perfume at all. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>11.)</b> <b>Perfumes</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Calvin Klein</u> "In2U" - Honestly Incredible. Good for everyday use, or special occasion. Clean, Crisp, Feminine. $26 at TJ MAXX compared to $58 department store value.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Victoria's Secret</u> "Body by Victoria" Body Mist - Such a classic scent. I'm not actually sure they make this anymore, but it is definately feminine and flirty. I honestly bought it so long ago I don't remember what I paid for it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Ed Hardy </u>- Gift set. All three scents are hip and flirty, and most importantly they are young and semi-floral. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality when I received this set as a gift at Christmas.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Revert</u> "Eco" from Rue21 - I must be honest and tell you the only reason I bought this is because the sales associate was jumping down my throat trying to sell it. It was $9 at Rue21, and It smells pretty good. It is a clean, friendly smell, however, it sort of seems like a unisex fragrance to me. I still wear it though. It's a nice difference from the other perfumes mentioned</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJz4rSTzn04fYIzeRL95MFqUCoV_iDdrZTpn1LEcsfJbkyKlRHg4jxxaVC-jcv0XYXmrLpyLJfzSY-opRgG1vjH5WHHh6nj94VULjk5XrydHG7Z9opXVM4oq1KZqstuZXNE_8b-EP3Ezw/s1600/chapstick.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJz4rSTzn04fYIzeRL95MFqUCoV_iDdrZTpn1LEcsfJbkyKlRHg4jxxaVC-jcv0XYXmrLpyLJfzSY-opRgG1vjH5WHHh6nj94VULjk5XrydHG7Z9opXVM4oq1KZqstuZXNE_8b-EP3Ezw/s320/chapstick.jpeg" width="239" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>12.) Chapsticks</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Chapstick Brand</u> - I am a firm believer that this is the best, most classic chapstick that truly cures chapped lips. I enjoy the spearmint and cherry flavors. <b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Baby Lips by Maybelline</u> - Honestly, my favorite part about this is the way it looks. It's a nice chapstick but you can't count on it to heal chapped lips. You have to apply it a lot more often than other chapsticks. I guess the plus side of Baby Lips is it comes in all different tints. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Carmex, Cherry</u>- One of my all time favorite brands. It works really well, except it leaves a light wax on your lips. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Burts Bees</u> !!!! That's all I can say. Every Burts Bees lip product gets an A+ in my book. I have about 5 different kinds of Burts Bees floating around in my purse. I just am not a fan of the price. I think $2.99-$4.99 is a little much for lip care.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Soft Lips</u> - All flavors, must have. Sleek, feminine container, and they come in tints. Super girly.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>12.) Listerine Pre-Rinse, Colgate Optic White Toothpaste and Mouthwash</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh My God! By far the best whitening regiment I've used to far. I rinse with the Listerine Vibrant White Pre-Rinse, and I bought the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush, which I then use with the toothpaste, and I end with the Mouthwash. I've been using it for about 2 weeks, and my teeth are a noticable 2-3 shades whiter. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought the Listerine at Ocean State Job Lot for $3.99, the Tooth Brush was $4.99 at CVS, and the Mouthwash and Toothpaste were on sale 2/$8 at CVS. </div>

<br />

As you all know, Pinterest is taking over the internet One Pin at A Time. I can't lie, I am an avid pinner. I try a lot of the things I see on there, and most of them are fails. This one came out fantastic!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided that even though I'm in the basement, it didn't have to look like the basement. So, I started the make over. I'm beginning with the bathroom, and I must say it came out a lot better than expected. It started out with a wood vanity. It became old and dingy and dirty looking, so I decided to paint it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is what it started as (WITH Drawers, just didn't have them in for this picture):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBCAwLSu6kGyB7Pg2pzH-Z3X3djwOSSWLWl2DGcrQ29p_Ty4kxYjQsOzwIrTf-iRHlWbqttOywZAceORJ3sNzV5lqWJwqG2woW1vIgsfouX2SDMRCiy1smbeUoIlfIZ4qzU7y1L5Q85oI/s1600/b4e9a6547f0811e29f7222000a9f130b_7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBCAwLSu6kGyB7Pg2pzH-Z3X3djwOSSWLWl2DGcrQ29p_Ty4kxYjQsOzwIrTf-iRHlWbqttOywZAceORJ3sNzV5lqWJwqG2woW1vIgsfouX2SDMRCiy1smbeUoIlfIZ4qzU7y1L5Q85oI/s400/b4e9a6547f0811e29f7222000a9f130b_7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With some high-gloss black interior paint, and new hardware from Home Depot: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOhUZGXhyphenhyphenhhkDS6JjzxMC0CICjRaP4v06Yk1Us4BZbwtJTtLUaak7vNw71ha8CPlEafs7okIilkeBJgZVgsvi4L-my8UsDzYYU4oX90sfhvl47iw3uikNitowzoaQ81uYgzK61XsQIzPI/s1600/hs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOhUZGXhyphenhyphenhhkDS6JjzxMC0CICjRaP4v06Yk1Us4BZbwtJTtLUaak7vNw71ha8CPlEafs7okIilkeBJgZVgsvi4L-my8UsDzYYU4oX90sfhvl47iw3uikNitowzoaQ81uYgzK61XsQIzPI/s400/hs.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And now, the finished bathroom (with the exception of flooring) including new shower curtains, rugs, towels, hardware, this is the final outcome:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Before the new hit "thrift shop" came out, a friend of mine had told me about thrifting. And, honestly, it has become a hobby of mine. It's not only a hobby, but it is an art. You have to have patience. You have to have time. And most importantly, you have to have some sort of creative fashion vision. You have to see beauty in something that someone else has willingly throw out. I have found some incredible things thrifting. I like to stick to Salvation Army Thrift Stores, that's where I have most of my luck. Don't get me wrong, there are some things you just cannot buy from a thrift shop; </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Undies/Bras/Lingere</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Shoes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. Bedding.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Moral of the story is;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Never judge somebody by where they shop, and never think you're too good to thrift. It is tons of fun, and takes tons of effort. I highly suggest you guys try it for yourself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>NOTE:</b> I've decided that as I continue to thrift, I will have a little segment (if you will) on JTBD about my finds, and how I make outfits out of what I get. Stay tuned.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't lie. I used to think the skinnier, the better. But since I've grown up a bit, and have experienced the advantages and disadvantages to being every size in between, I truly believe that beauty is all in how you feel about yourself. You could weigh 800lbs, but if you look at yourself and see something beautiful, I do too (most of the time). </div>

Wow. It's been over 6 months since I last posted on here. Part of the reason is because I couldn't remember my log-in and password. The other part is I work like a dog. Since I last posted, I became a Certified Nurses Aid. I work 40 hours a week at a nursing facility in Falmouth. I work on and all Dementia/Alzheimer's unit and I absolutely love what I do. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
But enough about me. I'm ready to start blogging again. I can't make any promises, but I am going to try;; Hope you've missed me.</div>
